Cutter Bashes 5 Base Hits
|
Max Cutter was at the head of a New York A (CMPX) Yankees hit parade at JetBlue Park. The 18-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Boston (CMPX) Red Sox that marched off with the 9-5 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Yankees skipper Tony Mansolino following the game. "Max did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Cutter did more than fine, dominating the Red Sox at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging shortstop told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Max Cutter doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This season in 21 games, Cutter is batting .337 with no home runs, 6 RBIs and has scored 12 times.
