Marlins Win by Slim Margin, 5-4
|
The Miami Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves, 5-4, at Truist Park. Chris Moller went 4-5 with 4 singles. The 24-year old right fielder was a menace to Atlanta all day. Miami reliever Arturo Salas picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ryan Southall shouldered the loss. Bill Olvera earned the save for Miami, his 5th of the year.
The outcome might have been different for Miami, had it not been for Josh Sippy, the 29-year old right fielder . Sippy stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Miami up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Miami manager Justin Toole said afterward.
Miami, with the win, is 14-27.
