The Texas (DSL) Rangers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Dave Torre, who kept New York A (DSL) hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Rangers win at New York Yankees Complex. Phil Black got credit for the save for Texas (DSL). It was his 5th of the year. The loss makes New York A (DSL) 7-27.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Danny Sanchez? The Texas (DSL) right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rangers on top, 2-1. For the game, Sanchez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
