Rangers Go Down to Defeat, 5-4
|
The Cleveland Guardians weathered an outstanding game by Texas second baseman Rodolfo Soto to topple the Rangers, 5-4. Soto was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Bobby Bassett picked up the save for Cleveland, his 8th of the year. The victory makes Cleveland 13-26.
Curt Herlihy, the Cleveland center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 5-1, Guardians. For the game, Herlihy went 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It's a long season," said Herlihy. "We'll keep working to improve."
