Orioles Lose to Blue Jays, 5-3
|
Toronto beat Baltimore on the strength of starter Josh Weimer's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Weimer, now 3-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Blue Jays raised their record to 19-18.
The Blue Jays got an important contribution from left fielder Dan Morris, who in the bottom of the third hit a sinker into left for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Weimer said after the game.
