Starting pitcher Chris Randolph was a major factor in the 5-2 New York Mets triumph over the Cincinnati Reds. The Mets bumped their record to 26-11 with this latest triumph.

Jean-Christophe Rausa made an early impact for New York when he stroked his 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came with two out in the bottom of the first, put the Mets on top, 3-0.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Rausa told the New York Times.
