The Arizona (DSL) Diamondbacks topped the Pittsburgh (DSL) Pirates , 3-1, in Dominican Rookie League action at Baseball City Complex. The game was highlighted by the performance of Arizona (DSL) pitcher Nate Giffin. Arizona (DSL) is second in the NL Division with a record of 20-7.

Arizona (DSL) first baseman Adrian Cannon laid a blow when he belted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. It was his 5th home run of the season. With it, the Diamondbacks took a 3-0 lead.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Giffin said after the game.
