Mets Win Nail-Biter, 9-8
|
At El Toro Complex, the New York N (DSL) Mets edged the Boston (DSL) Red Sox , 9-8, in 10 innings. New York N (DSL) designated hitter Dan Sachs, who jolted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Jose Trujillo picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Josh Menendez suffered the loss. Young-jong Kim nailed down his 1st save.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Sachs delivered big-time for New York N (DSL), stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Josh Menendez. The game-changing hit put the Mets on top, 9-8.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Sachs.
The Mets are now 11-8, while the Red Sox fall to 9-10.
