The Lakewood BlueClaws had to overcome a big game from Greenville shortstop Kevin Thompson to leave FirstEnergy Park with a victory. And they did, winning 7-4. Thompson went 2-3 with a double, while scoring 2 times. The BlueClaws move to 82-52 with the win, while the Drive drop to 49-85.

Edwin Minjarez's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning was a big one for Lakewood. Coming to bat with one out, runners on 1st and 2nd and Lakewood trailing 4-3, the second baseman hit a run-scoring single.

In comments to the Lakewood Times, Minjarez admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
