Starting pitcher Dave Previte gave the Greenville Drive a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Rome Braves, 2-0, at State Mutual Stadium. Previte yielded no runs over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-4. The win puts the Drive at 59-70, while the Braves drop to 79-50.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Sean Wolf? The 21-year old right fielder Wolf stroked a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Greenville up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Greenville manager Dean Anna said.
