Greenville turned a good performance from starting pitcher Manny Banuelos into a 3-1 triumph over the Lakewood BlueClaws at Fluor Field at the West End. The winner was Banuelos. He threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Ruben Renta. Jon Zahn notched his 16th save in 17 chances.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Drive had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when shortstop R.J. Peterson hit a 2-run single. The single came off Ruben Renta and made the score 2-1, Drive. Peterson was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.

Peterson said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.

The Drive raised their record to 58-67.
