West Virginia took on Kannapolis in front of a lively crowd.

The Kannapolis Cannon Ballers got a superb performance from pitcher Eric Timmins. Still, it wasn't enough to beat West Virginia. The Power won the game, 7-4. Timmins threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. West Virginia is now 77-48, Kannapolis 47-78.

West Virginia used the timely hitting of Giacomo Pagani to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Power on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Winning never gets dull," said Pagani.
