Cubs Earn 7-5 Win Against Diamondbacks
|
The Chicago Cubs overcame a good performance by Arizona second baseman Bob Peterson to knock off Arizona, 7-5, at Chase Field. Peterson was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Jon Blackwell picked up the save for Chicago, his 1st of the year. The Cubs raised their record to 16-19.
Yefet Ben-Yisrael hit a 2-run triple off Ian Etheredge in the top of the 13th, which put the Cubs in front, 7-5. Ben-Yisrael had 1 single and 1 walk, in addition to the three-bagger. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"It's not about individual awards," Ben-Yisrael told a Chicago Daily reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
