With designated hitter Chris Boring leading the charge, the Lexington Legends defeated the Greenville Drive, 4-2, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Boring threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Lexington currently is in 5th place in the Southern Division at 29-42.
Making an impact for the home team was Dave Riddell. In the bottom of the fourth, the 22-year old second baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Legends.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Riddell said after the game.
