The New York Mets beat the Atlanta Braves, 2-1. New York pitcher and Oak Forest, Illinois, native Chris Randolph led the way. Randolph picked up the win for New York, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0. Jeremy Hull got credit for the save for New York. It was his 8th of the year.
The Mets got a gift in the bottom of the second inning, when they were leading 1-0. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Juan Rey reached on an error by the left fielder, driving in 1 run. It made the score 2-0, New York.
