Brewers Sneak Past Nationals, 8-7
|
The Milwaukee Brewers bested the Washington Nationals by a score of 8-7, with designated hitter Ramon Alcaraz getting the main credit. On the day, Alcaraz went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Brewers. Milwaukee goes to 15-14.
Coming to the plate with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Milwaukee left fielder David Ventura had a chance to be the hero. Facing Washington pitcher Jake Martinson with the bases loaded, Ventura, the first overall pick in the 2032 draft, drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
Alcaraz said afterward that he was glad to help his team win.
