Danny Troha pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Beloit Snappers, despite Troha's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Fort Wayne TinCaps at Harry C. Pohlman Field. Fort Wayne has 3 straight wins, Beloit 3 straight losses.

Fort Wayne used the bat of Mike Martin to capture the win. The center fielder jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the TinCaps ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Beloit manager Tommy Chandler. "The effort was great."
