Cerny Torches Centurions for 5 Hits Monday, August 19th , 2024 It was a sensational day at the plate for Ryan Cerny as he led the charge to a nifty 7-5 win over the Centurions. The Beaumont right fielder was pure misery for the Caesar pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Cerny put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Mike Lunstrum, manager for the Centurions, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Ryan Cerny singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Aaron Wray in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a sac fly in the 11th. So far this year, Cerny is hitting .330 with 9 home runs. |
