3 Home Runs for Ferreras Tuesday, September 2nd , 2025 His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Pascanel Ferreras swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at Atrium Health Ballpark, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers were better. The Fayetteville Woodpeckers couldn't capitalize on the big game from Ferreras and dropped the contest, 9-6. The mood in the Woodpeckers clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Cannon Ballers to spoil the day for Ferreras. "Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Fayetteville manager Ricky Rivera said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level." In addition to the homers, Ferreras collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Fayetteville second baseman told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3." Pascanel Ferreras hit a solo-shot off Seth Keener in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Seth Keener in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Seth Keener in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. Thus far this season, Ferreras is hitting .252 with 7 home runs, 24 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has 57 hits in 226 at-bats and has played in 63 games. |
