Tampa Bay pitcher Drew Rasmussen had a large part in his team beating the Detroit Tigers, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Reliever Shane Baz picked up the win. His record improves to 2-2. Phil Maton, who signed a 2-year contract worth $30,000,000 on 12/13/2025, took the loss. Jason Adam, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
Brandon Lowe delivered a big hit for Tampa Bay. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rays ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"Feels good to get the job done," Lowe said after the game.
The victory makes Tampa Bay 17-11, as the team seeks a return to the playoffs in 2026.
