Guardians Come Up Short at Tampa Bay, 4-3
The Tampa Bay Rays topped the Cleveland Guardians, 4-3, in American League action at Tropicana Field. The standout performance belonged to Tampa Bay pitcher and Cape Coral, Florida, native Shane McClanahan. Garrett Cleavinger earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Earning his 5th save for Tampa Bay was Jason Adam.

The Rays got a big at-bat from designated hitter Yandy Díaz. For the game, Díaz went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Tampa Bay a 4-1 lead.
