Yankees Drop Blue Jays, 2-1
|
Both teams had their chances, but the New York Yankees eventually prevailed.
In a low-scoring contest between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays, 32-year old right-handed pitcher Shawn Dubin proved to be the difference. The New York right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Yankees win. The Yankees, now 12-6, have been red hot.
New York won the game in part because of Jasson Dominguez. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Yankees ahead, 2-0. For the game, Dominguez had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Shawn didn't monkey around out there," said New York field general Aaron Boone.
