Thatcher Hurd bent a little, but he didn't break against the Harrisburg Senators. The Erie SeaWolves pitcher hurled a 6-hit, 6-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering no walks and tallying 12 strikeouts.

"Thatcher is good at getting out of jams," SeaWolves manager Linton Dyer told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."

His record for the year is 9-9 in 25 starts and Hurd has a 4.80 ERA.
