Pittsburgh Gets 6-1 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the two-time All-Star Bryan Reynolds, the Pittsburgh Pirates stopped the Texas Rangers, 6-1, in 9 innings. The loss makes Texas 54-73.
Michael A. Taylor had a big 2-run home run for the Pirates in the top of the second inning. With Pittsburgh leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a curveball from 33-year old right-handed pitcher Jon Gray and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Pirates on top, 3-0.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Taylor.
