Mets Absorb 6-4 Loss at Nationals Park
|
The New York Mets and Washington Nationals delighted fans at Nationals Park.
Washington second baseman CJ Abrams was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the New York Mets. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Nationals. Camilo Sanchez snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-0 on the season. Luis Severino suffered the loss. Ron Marinaccio was credited with the save, his 17th in 20 tries.
The Nationals got a big at-bat from right fielder T.J. White. For the game, White was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Washington a 3-0 lead.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Abrams told a local reporter after the game.
Washington raised its record to 44-41 with the win.
