Angels Get Clutch 12-11 Win
The Los Angeles Angels beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 12-11, Angels. One of the hitting stars was center fielder Mike Trout. Trout, who finished 3rd in the AL in extra base hits with 28 in 2020, went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Los Angeles reliever Clay Holmes picked up the win, raising his record to 2-3. Andrew Saalfrank was tagged with the loss. The Angels move to 24-27 with the win, while the Diamondbacks drop to 27-21.

The decisive blow was delivered by Lourdes Gurriel Jr. in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 28-year old left-handed pitcher Andrew Saalfrank to win the game for Los Angeles. The home crowd went nuts.
