Amarillo Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game
The Amarillo Sod Poodles and San Antonio Missions held nothing back in an entertaining Round 1 that went the distance.

In the end, it will be Amarillo advancing to the Round 2, after a 5-1 triumph in the final game at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, to wrap up the series 3-2.

The Sod Poodles players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Missions.

Gavin Conticello was named series MVP for Amarillo. For the series, Conticello hit .524 with a .565 on-base percentage. He had 6 home runs, drove in 9 RBI and scored 7 runs.

The Amarillo Sod Poodles will play against the Springfield Cardinals in the next round. Springfield won their series against the Wichita Wind Surge 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
