The Las Vegas Athletics picked up a win at A's Ballpark in Las Vegas, knocking off the Colorado Rockies, 6-5. On the mound for Las Vegas was left-hander JP Sears. He played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Las Vegas reliever Joe Boyle, now 1-2. The loser was Josh Simpson. The Rockies have now dropped 5 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Darell Hernaiz in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 29-year old left-handed pitcher Josh Simpson to win the game for Las Vegas. The home crowd went nuts.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Colorado manager Jesus Cordova.
