Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Eberhardt Sunday, September 14th , 2008 Dennis Eberhardt was a calming influence out of the Newport Sea Lions bullpen this season. His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 19-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Sub League 2 Reliever of the Year Award for 2008. The Sterling Heights, Michigan native won the award with 24 saves in 33 relief appearances, 46 strikeouts in 35.2 innings and a record of 1-4 to go with his 1.01 ERA. He received 24 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jason Fink of the Huntington Highlanders finished second in voting, while Fernando Palacios of the Battle Creek Bass finished third.
