Dallas Downs New York City, 11-7
|
The Dallas Texans welcomed the New York City Blues to an night game at Blues Field.
The Dallas Texans defeated the New York City Blues by the score of 11-7, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Steve Aubin. Aubin went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Texans on the day. Corey Williams picked up the win in relief for Dallas, while Jim Johnson took the loss.
In the top of the fifth inning, the Texans grabbed the lead when Todd Parnell rapped a two-out single. Dallas was trailing 5-4, when Parnell hit a 2-run single off Jim Johnson to put his team in front, 6-5.
Texans manager Jesus Sanchez wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
The 'W' lifts Dallas's record to 27-34.
