Montemayor Slams 3 Homers for Gravediggers

Mario Montemayor went yard three times in a West Pittston Gravediggers victory over the Norfolk Poltergeists at The Graveyard.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the West Pittston shortstop went 4-for-5 against Norfolk with 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Gravediggers to the 12-5 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Mario Montemayor hit a solo-shot off Jorge Gonzales in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jorge Gonzales in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Danny Hernandez in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
This year, Montemayor is hitting .140 with 4 home runs and 5 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .246 clip and scored 9 runs.
