Mewbourne Gets Award for Relief Work Tuesday, October 6th , 2026 He may only be 21, but Josh Mewbourne of the Lakewood BlueClaws has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the South Atlantic League. The reliever was today named the SAL Reliever of the Year winner for 2026. He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 16 saves in 38 relief appearances and 80 strikeouts in 85 innings. He had a record of 9-4 to go with his 2.44 ERA. He received 8 first place votes out of a possible 14.
