Shorebirds Dominate, Sweep Round 1 Monday, September 14th , 2026 The Delmarva Shorebirds are on to the Round 2 after a convincing series win over the Lakewood BlueClaws. Delmarva wrapped up the series sweep with a 5-3 win in the last game, to take the series 3-0. "We expected to win and we executed the way we needed to," said Jonnathdael Gonzalez, who was named series MVP. For the series, Gonzalez hit .417 with a .533 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Delmarva Shorebirds don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Lexington Legends - Charleston RiverDogs series. Lexington leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
