August's Premier Batter Announced Tuesday, September 1st , 2026 For a rookie just breaking in, Preston Salazar certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the CAR Batter of the Month award for August. The 26-year-old third baseman for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers hit .280 with 7 home runs, 23 RBIs and 25 runs scored. So far this year Salazar has hit .228 with 19 home runs, 73 RBIs and 81 runs scored. |
