5-for-8 Day for Hulbert
|
The 5th time is the charm -- at least for Eric Hulbert.
The center fielder for the Worcester Red Sox hit the milestone against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, helping his club to a narrow 5-4 victory. Hulbert finished with a 5-for-8 line at the plate.
"Hulbert was a tough out," Jacksonville manager Matt Thornton told the press in the postgame interview. "If it weren't for him, I think we had this one."
Eric Hulbert grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th, flied out in the 14th and singled in the 16th.
So far this season, Hulbert has 4 home runs and a .296 batting average.
