Pirates Defeated, 5-3, After San Francisco Rallies
|
San Francisco second baseman Alex Hinojosa made his presence felt in the 5-3 Giants triumph over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hinojosa was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Dave Jacobs recorded the save, his 26th. The win makes San Francisco 75-61.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Chris McVaugh came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Pittsburgh pitcher Nate Register, he hit a 1-0 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting San Francisco on top, 4-3.
"I really like what we did out there today," Hinojosa said after the game.
