Matos Powers Reds to 5-4 Win
The Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers played an entertaining game for American Family Field patrons.

The Cincinnati Reds defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-4. First Baseman Raul Matos deserved a large share of the credit. Matos was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Reds. Joe Stokes, 3-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Omar Hernandez recorded the save for Cincinnati, his 12th of the season.

With the game tied, 4-4, in the top of the seventh, Matos had a key at-bat for Cincinnati. With a runner on 2nd, Matos hit a run-scoring single off AJ Smith-Shawver, making the score 5-4, Reds.

"Nice to get this one," said Matos. "We've been scuffling."

The Reds sport a record of 37-96.
