Cleveland Ruins Terrific Game by Hawkins
|
The Orlando Rays withstood an impressive performance by Cleveland left fielder Elijah Hawkins to defeat the Guardians, 9-7, at Progressive Field. Hawkins went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The win lifted the Orlando record to 74-42.
In the top of the second, Orlando catcher Bobby Watson had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Watson stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 4-2, Orlando. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
