Mets Win at Chicago, 2-0
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the New York Mets and the Chicago Cubs, Jim Palmore, who finished 5th in the NL in strikeouts with 203 in 2030, was the difference-maker. The New York left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. New York has a record of 46-57, placing them last in the National League East Division.
New York took a 1-0 lead on Ivan Orozco's 11th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Orozco hit in the top of the seventh, left Chicago pitcher Blake Dickerson visibly frustrated.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Palmore.
