Division Series Goes the Distance, Kansas City Prevails
|
The fans in Kansas City are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Los Angeles.
The Kansas City Royals finished off the Los Angeles Angels 6-3 in the deciding game of the Division Series played at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
They took the series 3-2 and will now head to the League Championship Series.
For his standout play, Kansas City first baseman Tim Holden was voted the series' Most Valuable Player.
He batted .316, drove in 4 runs and scored 4 to lead his club to victory.
"We could never really figure out how to pitch to Holden and that doomed us," said Angels manager Jose Morban. "Hats off to Kansas City, though. That was a great series."
The Kansas City Royals don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Orlando Rays - Toronto Blue Jays series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 18th , 2037.
