The Inland Empire 66ers ignited a huge celebration as they beat the San Jose Giants 5-4 to win the Round 2.

Inland Empire won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 8th time.

"We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Inland Empire manager Rafael Gil. "It's a great feeling."

The champs finished the regular season 83-57 and claimed first place in the Southern Division.

In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and center fielder D.J. Wolf said the 66ers have "great fans and they deserve this."

"I am so happy for our city right now," he said.
