Diamondbacks Beat San Francisco, 3-2
|
Jimmy LaRussa, who is tied for 4th in the NL in complete games with 1, had a strong outing for the Arizona Diamondbacks against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. The Diamondbacks now own a record of 41-34.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Dominic Cross came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing San Francisco pitcher Eric Bierbrauer, he hit a 2-2 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Arizona on top, 3-2.
"Jimmy had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Arizona manager Yander Guevara.
