Wilson on Fire, 5-for-5 Against Baltimore (FCL)
|
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Chris Wilson of the Washington (FCL) Nationals had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate in his team's 7-1 win over the Baltimore (FCL) Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 21-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Chris Wilson singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
At present, Wilson is batting .299 with 38 hits and 2 home runs. He has knocked in 14 runs and scored 11 times.
