Cubs Shut Out Reds, 4-0
|
Soggy conditions did not keep Chicago and Cincinnati from playing their scheduled game.
The Chicago Cubs topped the Cincinnati Reds, 4-0, in National League action at Wrigley Field. The standout performance belonged to Chicago pitcher and Odessa, Texas, native Pete Bubnis. The win for the Cubs raised their record to 17-17.
Jeferson Quero came through for Chicago with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. The catcher was a perfect 3 for 3 in the game, including 1 home run and 2 singles. He scored 1 run and collected 1 run batted in.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Quero.
