Gill Celebrates Wild Card Win Tuesday, September 15th , 2082 For the Gill Whalers, it's not how you start, but how you finish. That's the mantra the team is following after today qualifying for the playoffs. "We may be going into the playoffs as a wild card team, but we plan to finish the playoffs as champions," said closer Walt Kortright. "There's no shortage of confidence from guys in our clubhouse." With a record of 77-63, there will of course be teams with better track records in the postseason. But the team's manager said his club has "infinite optimism" that they can win the franchise's 1st Horizon League championship. |
