Spano Blasts 3 out of the Park Wednesday, June 30th , 2066 Phil Spano of the de Moron went on a hitting spree at Ballpark Cubana today and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a 18-17 loss to the Filis de La Habana. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Spano said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Payasos center fielder did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Phil Spano hit a solo-shot off Solomon RodrĂguez in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Sompong Siriwattanakorn in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Alain Gonzáles in the 8th. Currently Spano is batting .405 with 14 home runs and 19 RBIs. |
