Divisional Round Goes the Distance, Medford Prevails
Tuesday, September 12th , 2084
California League pundits who figured the Divisional Round between the Medford Otters and San Jose Giants would go the distance were right on the mark.
The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Medford coming out on top thanks to a 4-2 win in the deciding game at Medford Grounds, to wrap things up 3-2.
"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Otters first baseman Pansa Rangkhasiri, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Rangkhasiri had 9 hits for a .450 average. He had 0 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Medford Otters will play against the Texas Rangers in the next round. Texas won their series against the Burlington Sock Puppets 3 games to 1. The California Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
