Crowell's Hit Streak Reaches 25 Games Tuesday, August 2nd , 2078 The hitting streak for Portland shortstop Larry Crowell now stands at 25 games, but the Sea Dogs dropped today's contest 3-0 to the Altoona Curve. Crowell went 1-for-3 in the game. "Things went well for me personally today," he said later. "I got 1 hit and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." Larry Crowell doubled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 9th. For the season Crowell is currently batting .262 with 8 home runs and 47 RBIs. In 99 games he has reached base at a .344 rate and scored 46 runs to date. |
