Ayala Shines in 2-0 Gem
|
Magic was in the air and on the mound at Dozer Park, as Michael Ayala held the Peoria Chiefs spellbound in his 2-0 shutout victory. The Bowling Green Hot Rods pitcher went the distance, rang up 10 strikeouts, walked 1, and held the Chiefs to 5 hits.
"He just had us in his thrall," Peoria manager said. "We couldn't put anything together against him."
This year, Ayala has fanned 60 in 58 innings and collected a 4-2 record with a 2.79 ERA.
