Wisconsin Timber Rattlers shortstop Aarón Vega had a day to remember at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium, ripping apart the Clinton LumberKings and sparking the 14-11 Timber Rattlers win.

Vega wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5.

"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Vega told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."

Aarón Vega doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

To date, Vega has collected 23 hits for a .354 average. He has posted 3 home runs, scored 11 runs and driven in 10 runs.
